To be honest Ihave never heard anybody doing this

I know what you mean. She plays it faster, but not nearly as musically. I strongly believe that if Rachmaninoff were alive today, he would like Gilels’ interpretation of this piece the most. Better than Lisitsa’s, Kissin’s, or even Horowitz’ interpretation.

    :D Thank you!! At last somebody… :) )

I’m very glad because of your opinion about Richter! So, I think that Gilels and Richter are the best performers of this piece, but I think that Lugansky’s performance is good too and also Rachmaninov’s and Prokofiev’s.

  • sprudelwurst says:

richter is a very good pianist and richter is a human who understands the music he play but in this piece he play it to slow I think.
but richter is also world class!!!!

    I happen to love 7-UP :(

  • sprudelwurst says:

better than prokowjew, rachmaninov himself, lang lang, lisitsa and horowitz!
    WOW!

  • stellina96 says:

You’re right. I agree with you. It’s like comparing 7UP to Dom Perignon. :)

    Yeah…

He is such a great piano player,
i really appreciate the way of his playing look at those hands its undescrible,
its looking so much naturally i love that on gilels way of playing he plays like a undescribeable, natural humanbeeing, like it would be not a running piece just it comes from bottom of his heart. i love that.

That’s the proper interpretation — not briliant but modest

  • TheADzioba says:

Now that’s how you have a meltdown at the piano.

I’m relearning this piece at the moment — it’s uber tough. Hard to believe that I used to know it off by heart and performed it at a family concert.

  • anni666s says:

sometimes it seems like he´d fall from his chair very soon :D

  • thejesusfreak919 says:

ALRIGHT GUYS. So I just put up a video of myself playing this piece. I want opinions…if anyone here’s nice enough to see all my hard work I’ve been doing for about two weeks (started learning it two weeks ago I mean) then please click on my username and watch the featured video. Or go to the playlist “Clay Dubberly’s Performances” right under the featured video. Thanks. :)

  • Rory Houlihan says:

anyone know where i can find sheet music for this piece

  • Cabinessance says:

    Pity the bald pianist.

Brilliant performance. What must it be like to sit at a concert grand?

  • SlashRNFR says:

I used to make jokes about getting an arrow to the knee/finger, then I got laid.…

  • matavidya says:

This is the best Rach Prelude I ever heard.
