Yamaha CS 8’3″ Concert Grand Piano

Just Arrived! If you are looking for a Big piano but not a Big price this piano may be the answer! If you are familiar with Yamaha’s very elite “S“series then you are aware that they are Yamaha’s very best “Hand Built” grand pianos. Being at the extreme high end of the piano price range they are rarely seen or available on the pre-owned market. Yamaha has 3 models currently in production, the S4 6’4″ the S6 6’11“and the CFIII 9′. Previously offered was the CS or Semi Concert Grand this piano is identical to the CF or Full Concert Grand but only a little shorter at 8’3“rather than 9′. “S” series Yamaha Grand pianos are hand built in a separate facility off the assembly line where the more common and less expensive “C” series are built. They are constructed entirely different only sharing action components and brass hardware. Their cases contain only finest woods including the rim which is made with maple. Maple is an extremely hard and dense wood much better suited for sound projection and sustain. The more common “C” series are built with rims made of mahogany a much softer wood resulting in less resonance and projection. The construction of this piano is a lesson in extreme piano manufacturing resulting in a piano thats built to last several lifetimes without tone degradation. What this piano will give you is the performance of a 9′ in a smaller more manageable package. Rather than go on and on here, research the Yamaha “S“series on Yamaha’s website and you’ll see why

Now why is it that piano sales people go on to talk about the “tone and range” of an instrument only to go on to mercilessly pound upon the piano especially in the bass. A truly responsive instrument should pur and sing at even the softest dynamics.

  • ShotGunRoleModel says:

What are you DOING with this camera? hahaha

  • BrianButtterfield says:

The piece at 3:10 is the middle section of Chopin’s waltz in G flat (op 70 no1) for all who were asking :)

  • stevey226 says:

Oh watching this was painful! Couldn’t he keep up with him?! I was extremely interested but I couldn’t see what he was talking about most of the time =/

  • Lappith says:

I must admit this concert grand Yamaha piano, is the greatest instrument; that I had ever played on. But this cameraman doing this interview sucks to say the least. That man starts playing the piano, but the guy is still shooting the other end of the piano?? Get with the parade cameraman, I think you better hire another one, to be truthful with you sir.

  • yuyoyuya1 says:

@Dougie085 You can still tell by the acoustics and lighting that the camera is really crappy, that is not from youtube. Youtube sounds quality options has gotten much better lately though.

  • Lawrencelovespiano says:

Then you played the Fourth Variation of Mozart — Sonata # 11 In A Major — K 331. You played a lot of my favourites and nice Grand. I might be getting a Grand and it will be Yamaha C1 Grand Piano.

  • Lawrencelovespiano says:

You randomly switched from Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 to Liebestraum? to a Valse by Chopin to another piece. XD

  • Lawrencelovespiano says:

You know how to play Chopin’s Étude Op. 10 No. 12 “Revolutionary Étude”????? I am so jealous, I want to learn that Étude.

  • HDnatureTV says:

@Wardrummer1980 — I totally agree. I hope to bring James a bigger audience and encourage him to continue performing and sell a few more CDs. ;-)

  • HDnatureTV says:

@Wardrummer1980 — I’m sorry man. I lost both my father and fiance… lost dreams… stress and anxiety help create these waves videos where I just wanted something beautiful and positive to look at and listen to. I didn’t want to associate any music at the time — thus nature sounds only is my main focus. However, the right music can be truly inspirational with the sights and sounds of Waves. I will now be doing both on youtube thanks to my new music partners. ;-)

  • Wardrummer1980 says:
