Thumbs up if you enjoyed the subtlety and majesty of this eternal creation by Beethoven, regardless of whether people consider it a song or piece.

    @ClassicNovel i couldve sworn i just heard a song… silly me

  • Glaxist says:

lol dedbusted… give it a break. You don’t have the “secret” of understanding music that we, the great unwashed masses have been searching for. Take your ache and anxiety and enjoy them. In the meantime I, like the poster, will relax to the beautiful sounds of this piece. My experience is as valid as yours and it’s offensive to try to tell anyone they aren’t experiencing the correct feeling for this or any other music.

  • stoepertje says:

@dedbusted Don’t say you don’t want to argue music theory, and then post a sentence like ‘the dreaded nonsense we hear everywhere else’…thats practiacally a invite to a discussion:) but lets leave it alone, God bless you to.

  • dedbusted says:

@stoepertje Oops, I thought you were another person. Forget it.

  • stoepertje says:

@dedbusted who said i couldnt? I can’t remember replying that… And dictating emotions absurd? As it so happens apperantly people find this relaxing while you don’t, I think this means that despite the effort of Mr. Beethoven there is no single guaranteed emotion. I think you got a bit of a tunnel vision…

  • dedbusted says:

@stoepertje Whatever you feel is your feeling. I do not want to intrude on your experience. I simply find that the term “relaxing’ hardly fits in with any great poem, piece of art, or music. The master pieces cause an agony, an anxiety of beauty that cause a sad sort of nostalgia that is difficult to explain. Relaxing for me is a banana and a hammock somewhere in South America with a drink in hand. Beethoven hardly gives me relaxation–he is as tense as Shakespeare is psychologically riveting.

  • stoepertje says:

@dedbusted Eeehm there can be a diffrence between the intention and reception of a song, without either 2 being ‘the right’ or ‘a misunderstanding’. Nobody can dictate emotions through a song.

  • dedbusted says:

The uploader says this is “one of the most relaxing songs” he knows? Relaxing? Beethoven’s masterworks are so powerful but hardly relaxing–they are so full of beauty, majesty, spleen, agony, heartbreak…there is nothing peaceful or relaxing here…there is tension, lonesomeness–the same kind of splendid despair Mozart gives us. So many people have a misunderstanding of classical music. Beethoven is so mentally terrific and stimulating; he hardly relaxes–neither do any of the great poets.

    MASTERPIECE..

  • Cannedmeat420 says:

@frenchness123 Most of Beethoven’s pieces were about loneliness lol. If there was one person on this planet that had a truly miserable existence and made something remarkable out of it, it was Beethoven.

@Paganiniilcannone It’s not “clear” that she was taught to make those movements. Maybe, maybe not. And even if she was really taught to do so, so what? I don’t see anything wrong in it. But one thing that is “clear” is her immense talent, technically and already at that age musicality. Just her sense of rhythm and of phrasing speaks but itself.

  • Edenhyde246 says:

    IMPOSSIBRU

  • Paganiniilcannone says:

This is disgusting! There is no point in waving her arm around like that. It’s as if she were trying to give the impression that she actually feels the music. It is quite clear that she was taught to make those movements. It is very fake.
