Nicolay is a consummate Chopin pianist. He never fails to bring out the lyric poetry in Chopin’s music. He showed that his affinity for Chopin was far greater than those who were judging the competition. Perhaps that is why the smaller minds in the jury picked a lesser talent as winner.….

I am Pole and I don’t love him, I dont like his predictable, sometimes boring interpretations which lacks of personality. This is not romantic, ‘brillante’ playing. His phrasing is very naive and obvious, and he dont know much about rubato, playing Polonaise-Fantaisie like with metronome — just awful!

@juliacapuletti I hope they put more Polish in the jury from now on.. I really think they will be a better judge for this competition

  • terrygowork says:

He is the only who should be the winner. They picked the most unworthy one. Shame…

What can I say… Jury is deaf. Whatever happens Poland loves you. We will always love you. And we will always be waiting for you.
