Inter­na­tionally acclaimed pianist Randall Atcheson’s performed for numerous Pres­i­dents and celebrities, on five conti­nents. He’s recorded sixteen best-selling albums. He’s on the coveted inter­na­tional roster of Steinway piano artists. And now, he’s making his musical debut at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 8, 2010.

He’s performed for Pres­i­dents, soloed at Carnegie Hall an unprece­dented nine times, and enter­tained at American embassies around the world, and now, the inter­na­tionally acclaimed Randall Atcheson is pleased to announce he will be ‘In Class and In Concert’ at Missouri Baptist University, October 8, 2010.

“I was raised by a Baptist minister and I’m so proud to make my debut at Missouri Baptist University. I look so very forward to working with the students and performing for them, as well,” said Atcheson.

A member of the distin­guished inter­na­tional roster of Steinway Artists, Atcheson will be working with several young pianists at MBU, as well as performing for the students during Chapel service on Thursday, October 7, 2010. On Friday, October 8, 2010, the public is invited to hear Atcheson perform in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center at MBU. A light reception starts at 6:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled to have a performer of Atcheson’s stature at Missouri Baptist University. His concert is going to be very special,” said Dr. Cathy Benton, MBU Asso­ciate Professor of Music. Atcheson is expected to perform a medley of clas­sical pieces, gospel, opera, patriotic music, and a special selection from pop superstar Lady GaGa.

A much-sought-after artist in the classics, as well as pop and the sacred reper­toire, Atcheson made his Carnegie Hall debut in 1991. Since then, he has recorded sixteen albums and performed as a guest soloist with numerous symphony orchestras, on five conti­nents. He has played for Pres­ident George W. Bush, Mick Jagger and scores of celebrities and will perform his tenth solo concert at Carnegie Hall on November 3, 2010.
